Photography Workshops

Friday 20th March 09.30-1

This creative workshop will help you to slow down and see things differently. As we look and explore an area I photograph a lot, we will find a variety of interesting shots. Keep an open mind and have some fun with your camera. Explore Newcastle city centre and experiment with settings to get different effects. Slow shutter for movement blur, low f numbers for narrow depth of field, looking for reflections, interesting patterns and colour. This will be a small group workshop with a maximum of 5 people and a minimum of 3. It doesn't matter what camera you use or how little you know. If the thought of working with shutter speed freaks you out then don't worry. My practical approach will help you to make sense of it. We will have an explore, take pictures and enjoy some creative time together.

If you have a neutral density filter and a tripod you could use them on this workshop to get more blur from the movement around us. You don't have to have those things to enjoy the workshop though so don't let that put you off.

Price £120 including coffee at 11 ish. Deposit of £50 payable before 1st March, balance due before the 13th. If you have any questions just let me know.

Friday 3rd April 11-12.30

A 90 minute photography workshop/wander as part of Blanchland Artisan Makers, Art In The Hall. Slow down and notice the details around us as we explore with our cameras or phone cameras. I will show you how to get the best from the camera that you choose to use with tips and ideas. This will be a relaxed and fun session in a beautiful village. Numbers are limited and booking is essential. £20 per adult. Under 16's £10.

Darlington has some lovely lanes and interesting details. Steps, shiny surfaces the market building too. It has so much to offer in terms of photography. It's a great place to grow your camera or street confidence as well as practicing to take pictures you love. Slow down and see things differently on this workshop as I help you with settings, ideas and composition.

It doesn't matter what camera you use on this workshop. It's all about learning to get the best from it.
